At our private kindergarten in Madrid, children develop strong values and language skills from the very start. Through immersive English education and skill-building in a nurturing environment, they lay the foundation for lifelong success. The curriculum focuses on seven key areas of learning, with three main areas supporting personal growth and essential foundational skills.
Grow in confidence and empathy As children openly share their thoughts, questions and feelings, they grow in confidence and empathy. Teachers guide these interactions, helping students build self-awareness, form strong relationships and navigate emotions effectively.
In our nurturing environment, children develop the resilience and communication skills to thrive socially and emotionally.
Develop confident communication At St. George Madrid, students focus on developing confident communication and language skills from the beginning. They engage in meaningful conversations with teachers and peers, enhancing their listening, understanding and speaking abilities.
Storytime becomes an interactive experience where they discuss characters, plot and ideas, expanding their vocabulary and comprehension. Through storytelling and guided discussions, students learn to express their thoughts clearly and build the foundation for literacy.
Express themselves
Movement and play help little learners develop coordination, express themselves and make healthy lifestyle choices.
Creative indoor and outdoor spaces encourage active engagement, building confidence and physical awareness. Physical activity is vital at this stage, enabling children to explore their environment safely and effectively, while also enhancing their overall wellbeing.
Love of reading and writing
At St. George Madrid, children discover that literacy is exciting, sparking a lifelong journey of reading and writing. During their time with us, students begin to read and understand simple sentences, developing the skills to decode words accurately and speak fluently.
Through engaging discussions about the stories they explore, students show their understanding of both the text and the narrative. As they progress in writing, they apply their phonics knowledge to represent spoken words correctly and craft simple sentences. This is where the adventure of learning begins.
Problem solving
In mathematics, children build strong counting skills from 1 to 20 and learn to arrange numbers in the correct order. They can identify which number comes before or after another. By using real-world objects, they practice adding and subtracting single-digit numbers and counting both forwards and backwards to find the answer.
As budding problem-solvers, they begin to explore more advanced concepts like doubling, halving and sharing. They also use everyday language to compare quantities and objects based on size, weight, capacity, position, distance, time and money, further strengthening their problem-solving abilities.
Discover communities
Children love to share stories about their past experiences and current adventures, not only from their own lives but also from their families. They enjoy exploring what makes them alike and different from others, as well as learning about diverse families, communities and traditions. Their curiosity extends to the variety of places, objects, materials and living things.
In our International school in Madrid, children are encouraged to explore the uniqueness of their immediate surroundings and discover how different environments can be. From exploring nature to discussing changes they observe, learning about the world becomes a fun and engaging adventure!
Explore the arts
Children thrive in the joy of singing, making music and expressing themselves through dance. They explore and safely engage with a range of materials in art and design sessions, using tools and techniques to experiment with colour, design, texture, form and function. They also share their thoughts and emotions through role-play, storytelling and creative arts.
At St. George School in Madrid, little learners embrace this artistic journey, becoming part of a welcoming and inclusive community. Get ready for some amazing masterpieces coming home for you to admire.
